Train Driver: version 1 now current

A version change is routine, but which version an apprentice sits under is not.

Train Driver at Level 3 is now at version 1.

Recorded change: Updated to version 1.

A new version typically revises the knowledge, skills and behaviours, the assessment plan, or both. Apprentices already on programme continue under the version they started on, and the funding rules that apply are those in force on their individual start date.

What to do about itconfirm which version each cohort is recorded against in your MIS, because you may be delivering two versions of the same standard side by side. Check whether the assessment plan moved with the version, where it did, your assessment organisation will need to be working to the revised plan. And read the change against the Transport and logistics route as a whole, since versions often move in batches when a regulator or sector body updates its own requirements.

The figures in the box above come from this standard’s record on the Skills England register. The context and guidance below are ours, and are general to this kind of change rather than specific to your provision.
